The Greatcell Energy Group is an innovative company based in Australia and Italy focused on developing and commercialising perovskite-based 3rd generation photovoltaics. The exciting new photovoltaic technology is now positioned to make a brighter future thanks to the extensive range of applications that can be integrated into energy systems with many advantages compared to traditional photovoltaic technologies.

The corporate goal is to establish a perovskite production facility based in Australia and to start industrial production in the shortest possible time.

The role of Greatcell Solar Italia, based in Rome, is focused on developing perovskite modules and panels for various applications across the solar spectrum and developing new generation photovoltaic testing equipment.

We are looking for a device and material specialist to develop and integrate perovskite solar cells, modules and arrays.

The successful candidate will play a vital role in the development of new photovoltaic systems utilising their solid knowledge of perovskite Material Science, Electronic Engineering and Industrial Process Technology experience, covering a wide range of activities from laboratory investigation to device fabrication, from cell scale to module dimension, and integration in the industrialisation phase in electronic products.

Technical Expertise:

PhD (preferred) in materials engineering, material science, electronic engineering, chemical engineering, energy engineering or any other related field of study. Preference will be given to candidates with expertise in all/some of the following areas:

• Perovskite photovoltaic technology, from fabrication to optoelectronic characterisations
• Low-temperature processing for integration of flexible solar cells
• Large area printing deposition techniques (slot die, ink-jet printing, blade coating, screen printing, R2R)
• Laser systems and application in perovskite processing
• Continuous manufacturing
• Data analysis

Skills:

• Experience in practical research and development and technology in EU/ International / Italian funded projects.
• Laboratory processing expertise (this is a hands-on role)
• Technical reports and scientific articles
• Fluency in written and spoken English is required

• Availability for international travel for collaborative R&D
  

The company location is in Rome, and we offer a permanent contract. The salary on offer will align with the market and the person's seniority and competence. A very generous stock option package will be included.
